Halloween

Thu Oct 15, 2009, 12:51 PM
I'm feeling like I really want to do a piece for Halloween, but I don't know what the heck to make. I'm intrigued by your basic fantasy themes: witches, wizards, fairies, etc. Some sub-themes I dig are black cats, bats, candy corn, pumpkin, fall leaves, and ghosts/ghouls. Tough call!

I'm not nearly good enough to pull it off without good stock to reference though, so if anyone knows of any stock that may fit the bill just let me know please. Much appreciated! Until then, Happy Halloween!

For the most part I'm always trying to improve. I'm told that I take criticism well, and I do in fact appreciate any help or criticism I can get. I love the idea of discussing tactics, tools, and learning with more accomplished artists and won't hesitate to ask them the stupidest questions.

I really enjoy digital work as it doesn't use resources and there's no cleanup and no mess for my daughter to get into. Although, I am quite capable of doing traditional work by hand. I love to draw and I always have the neatest ideas fly through my head at the most inopportune moments. I also love photo manipulation because it's a rather fun little challenge. It's neat to take a picture and know what to do to turn it into something even cooler.

Oh jeez what else can I babble about. I love chocolate and Merlot.

Your dedication to the 30-day marathon is admirable. It's very difficult to find time each day to complete an art task, but I definitely agree that it's always worth the effort to put the time in each day. It will pay off.

How it works? I've explored the glow and blur effect. You can make cool things with it. For example you can imitate light with a white shape witch is blurred. It's about paying with this two functions. Greatings, have fun
